Here in North Carolina, I have seen many odd cars being used by the Law as unmarked vehicles. From a black Escalade to Corvettes to everything in between. Many cars are confiscated by the state for various offences and used later as unmarked cars.

Beware of any suspicious vehicle, you never know !

hi, in N.Y, they take your vehicle, in florida they take your vehicle.
& if i was to bet, there are several more states.

just like your home, if you deal drugs out of your moms home, & you get busted, which i hope you do, if you do any illegal stuff, you should loose everything. besides all that $$$ money you think you are making goes to a real attorney, not a legal aid. so what did you get out of it.

i'm personal in favor of this. because anyone that drives drink, you should go to jail & loose you vehicle. & the funny part is your still reponsibility for the loan. :) being retired, & my family have 60years in & we are all glad we are out.

now this all depends on the state.
don't worry, they tap out at the most 115mph.
so hit the button go go baby go. ;-)
in florida there not suppose to chase bike's. BS! they do. ask me how i know. LOL
by by baby...160, 170 180 radio call, he's gone... chase called off.
just kidding for you serious people out there. but you understand.

Damn! What kinda town takes a person's truck if the get a DUI? Never heard of that! Let me know so I can stay away from there (that makes me sound like I constantly drive drunk....which I do not :)
Read the fine print on the truck. Felony DUI. That would not be your typical DUI (misdemeanor).

Could be any sort of habitual DUI offender or DUI Manslaughter as well.

:thumb: My first undercover 'police' vehicle was a virtually new Camaro Z-28 taken from a drug dealer.

It has street tires... I'm just going thru the mud!! :D

but seriously that sucks... and drinking and driving, just call a cab. Had a friend that got arrested last night for DWI... effects more than just her plus cost a bunch = not worth it. At least she got thru it without hurting/killing anyone...

Wish they did that in CO.

Like to drive drunk? Move to CO...they don't do a goddamn thing here . They're like the United Nations...they'll write an angry letter, threatening how angry they'll be in the next letter if they catch you doing it again  .

I don't honestly know why they let it happen.

i remember one of my college roommates parents moved from nashville, tn to slidell, la back when we were in school. he came back up from xmas break and said "in tennnessee people drive to work with a cup of coffee in their hand, and in louisiana people drive to work with a beer in their hand." guess nobody cared down there either. don't know if this still holds true.

just moved down here and that is with out a doubt true.... every stoplight there is at least 1 or 2 people drink a beer but hell they have drive through daiquiri places EVERYWHERE. you can get up for 5 shots of everclear... they put a piece of take on it so you want drink it though :bored3d:and the law states that its not illegal to drink but have an open container haha i have learned my lesson and refused to be in any vehicle with someone drinking. its ruins people lives. at the least get a taxi and if not disconnect your batter and say your truck want start (if you have an insurance that has free towing)

last time i was in new orleans was back in december of '82. we went down to see the stones in the super dome. on the interstate, right on the shoulders next to where you were driving by, there were old junked out cars that had been in accidents. serious accidents! not just some little fender bender accident. some had been sitting out in the weather a while and some, with the absence of rust, had been more recently placed. i was told that the authorities place these junkers where people could see them as a reminder of what happens when drinking and driving intermingle. it reminded me of a mad max movie. kind of creepy too.

I lost one of my best friends to this last year. IT's very sobering to see, especially considering there was many a night that I was riding shotgun taking that ride with him.

There is DUI and then FELONY DUI. Example: Around me most 1st timers end up serving something like 48 hours of a weekend and probation. 2nd, 3rd times will turn themselves in on Friday nights and sleep in jail every night for a number of months. Habitual offenders end up serving 3-6 months continuous. There's alot of counties around me, and for most of them it starts with a slap on the wrist and gets worse with every new offense. And you'll see many of the same faces getting picked up for it every time. Maybe once it gets to that point if the only two options to make you stop screwing up are vehicle siezure or a deadly accident, vehicle siezure is the way to go.
