Here are a few pics of my stereo system installed in my crewmax as promised. Currently using the new Alpine INA-W910 double din and waiting for thew new Alpine processor to come out. There is also a Galls ST240 police siren/pa-system fiberglassed below the climate controls. Front stage is a set of CDT Audio HD642 3-ways that were fiberglassed into the a-pillars. Rear doors house CDT Audio CL62 components in stock location. Rear wall houses an Alpine PDX-F6, PDX-M12, and two SWR-T12 slim subs in custom enclosure. Sound deadening was applied to the roof, rear wall, door skins, and door panels. Still waiting on the Axxess steering wheel control interface and Alpine rear camera to be installed. Overall I'm very pleased with the system and am finally glad to have a quality sound system after putting up with the stock JBL system for way too long. I was nervous about speaker choices because I decided on all speakers without being able to hear them first. The CDT's are loud and clear just like I wanted and the Alpine TypeR slim subs sound is tight and punchy just like I was hoping for. Feel free to ask any questions, but keep in mind I'm no audiophile and just told my installer I wanted a system that would play loud and not force me to sacrifice any room behind the rear seat.

Dynaudio has a new 3 way? Oh man, why'd you tell me that? I've been really curious about a set of Esotars lately. Might have to put my Germs up for sale :)

Zapco - thanks man....looking fwd to hearing the results of your install. bummer that CDT came out with a 8" three-way set right after i put these in.

Jumbo - thanks for the compliment bro. stoked to finally have a quality sound system in the Tundra. that JBL system was pretty sad.

Treo - yeah, he's really talented for sure. you should see some of his other installs.

VWTim - the pillars costed more than i wanted to spend too, but i figured i should do it once and do it right or else i'd regret it. almost went with the CDT Audio HD62AS components in the stock locations and i'm sure that would sound really good too.

Zapco - Extreme Audio Systems Hawaii. He's been doing audio for a loooong time and heard he's a top 25 installer in the country.

Nice install indeed. How are you liking that Alpine nab unit? I'm looking at them now. I've been waiting for one of these units to have decent audio specs, and this one looks like it's getting there. Got a short review on it for us?

Thanks,
luther

luth2000 - I waited for the Alpine unit for a long time and in short...not sure it was worth the wait. Haven't really studied all the other double-dins out there, but have always used Alpine and never had any problems in the past. The unit has better sound tuning than all the older Alpine units (finally 4V output) and that's the main reason I went with it. Couple things that should have been included are bluetooth audio (actually hooking an ipod or any other device with cables seems kinda behind the times) and USB video (connecting to a USB device only allows audio playback, not video). Another odd thing is the location on the unit that recieves the signal from the remote is on the passenger side so the remote doesn't work too well (have to hold it in front of unit for remote to send signal to the unit). Still waiting to hook this deck up the the Alpine PXA-800 processor....if it ever comes out. Pros: everthing in one unit...HD radio, navigation, bluetooth, etc.

ThirdHorsemen - Thanks man, construction for the pillars was $500.
