Just ordered this plate from myplates.com. I've never had a vanity plate before and this option was only a little more than a black plate with a random generated number. I know its a little corny, but I made my mind up on the black plate and thought I'd go for it.

for my fellow Texans - they have a lot of options and colors!

anyone who drives on the road gets their plate run hundreds of times. thats how we find registration violations easiest...warrant hits, etc. u dont have to be doing anything wrong at the time u just have to be on the road w/in eyesight hahahaha

In Maryland they use something like this to scan plates. One cop with the scanner will sit in the middle divider with 2 other cars facing opposite directions to go after the offending vehicle.

I think here in orlando some of the police have that plate reader in there cars. They said on the news that they just got to be behind you and it reads it in mere seconds. Hey Barney do you give a lot of breaks or more tickets? And dont lie!

FYI, there are VERY few tag readers in Maryland. They are very expensive. I work in one of the largest departments in MD, and we have very, very few tag readers.
For the record, I write very few tickets as well. I've written 6 citations in 2010, but probably 70 or so written warnings =)!
Back on topic, nice license plate! I couldn't think of anything cool to get on a vanity tag, so I got a Chesapeake Bay tag.
Its an orange background plate, way different from the white tag with black digits. Even better, some money every year goes to preserving the Bay!
