My buddy was showing off his 07 Silverado and mentioned that the stock back-up sensors picked up his ball mount so they were useless when it was on.

I drive w/my ball mount on all the time so I hope this is not the case w/the Tundra.

Silverado also only had 2 sensors on the bumber while most systems I see have several more.

Nope, only when hooked to a trailer do they go off.

I would hope so.

On my buddy's Silverado they go off w/just the ball mount/hitch installed.

Stupid.

My sierra is the same way. I wouldn't trust the sensors for backing up for a trailer anyhow, it's just nice for letting you know if you're about to run over something. I also try not to leave my hitch hooked up because they tend to walk off around here, and i always loose my key for the locking hitches.
