Driver Side Window Smashed

Hi folks,

Just got my brand spankin' new Sequoia broken into. Wonderful vehicle but apparently the theif was more interested in what was laying inside, my bonehead move for leaving it out. Anyway, just a reminder to all to leave any items of the slightest value out of signt. Has anyone had experience replacing smashed windows? I have a high deductable so I went to an el cheapo glass repair place. They used PPG glass, not Toyota but I guess it's OK. The thing is, I saw the door before he put the panel back on. The plastic liner was glued on pretty sloppy and there was a cut in the middle of it that he just taped up. I asked if that was common practice to use the old plastic liner when replacing the glass and he said everyone does it that way. I feel creepy just knowing it was done that way. Anyone have a part number for the inside plastic liner driver's side window? Thanks take care.

LOL, don't worry about that plastic liner. Even if the dealer does anything work inside the doors they just rip it out of the way and throw it away. I changed my speakers and put relays in all my doors and I had to make all kinds of cuts and some where cut so many times I just ripped them off and threw them away.

PPG glass makes glass for most auto company's including Toyota and they make the best glass from what I herd. When someone smashed my front windshield I had it replaced with PPG and the only difference is it don't say Toyota on it. So what you got is just as good as what you had. What did it cost you if you don't mind me asking?? Thanks, Johnnnnny
I can tell by your choice of vehicles that you have discerning tastes, so that advice eases my mind. Thanks. Oh yeah, anyone out there know how to re-set the "pinch sensor". That's what makes the window go down half-way after you hit the express up button. Can I do it with my code reader? Take care, great forum.

I am not sure about the door windows but I do no how to do it for the rear hatch sliding glass. I guess it's worth trying. For the rear window you push the down button and hold it till the window goes all the way down but DON'T take your finger off the button you want to hold it down for an extra ten seconds. Then let go and do the same going up, when the window closes DON'T take your finger off the button, hold it pushed for an extra ten seconds or so. That's how the rear window is set, let me know if that works for a door window as well. Johnnnnny
Thanks anyway but that didn't work. I think the term for it is Front Window Jam Control. Anyone out there know how to reset this? It's not a show stopper but anoying to have the window roll back half way when you hit the express up button. Thanks and keep on postin'
