Just started driving a 2002 Tundra 4.7 V8, 206k miles.
There's a harsh engine shaking, vibration at around 1900-2000 rpm.
The problem only happens if the throttle is at about 15-20%. Pressing the pedal further makes the shaking go away. Even when just lightly engaging the pedal at cruising speed there is minimal vibration.
Usually this problem is worst traveling at around 52-55 mph, rpms around 1900.

Any thoughts about this? I also have a 2000 Tundra that does not express this characteristic at all.

Take a look at your engine mounts and the body mounts up front left/right of the radiator and the body mounts below the cab, like right under the front door hinges under the truck.

If any of those things are loose, your truck could shake. Especially if the engine mounts are loose. Pretty easy fixes if the rubber in the mounts themselves aren't damaged. Might be as easy as replacing a missing bolt.

before you jump to conclusions and start throwing money I had a throttle position sensor go out on my 2000 that caused my engine to stumble at a very specific RPM. It ran smooth up to the RPM and once past it was smooth as well. Inexpensive sensor part Now I have the V6 but I believe the earlier V8 tundras were drive by wire too and also had the sensor. I would also clean your MAF sensor for good measure. I had an older Toyota 4 banger that stumbled and it was a bad plug wire that caused the issue. I could actually hear the tick tick noise and see the spark jump from the wire to ground. Always start with the least expensive and go from there. Plugs, injectors, coils can begin to add up money.

check the coil packs! not sure if a light will come on or not. i installed all new on mine with cheap coil packs and they started going bad in about 6 months. put old ones back in. still going strong and its a 2000.

You should check the throttle body for carbon build-up. If this is the case, clean it thoroughly. Also check the spark plugs for wear or electrode gap too wide. If there's a misfire you will have the DTC P0300 and P030X where X is the cylinder number (not firing order) which is causing the misfire. Swap the coils, if you still receiving the same DTC, then the spark plug is faulty, otherwise, is the coil Also clean the MAF sensor. Hope you can solve this issue ASAP.

In addition to engine and tranny mounts (big job) I Recently had a similar shake in my 02 4.7 and found that one two of the blades on my original cooling fan had disintegrated and chunks broke off... Replaced fan, all good... Chap

Check your Drive shaft u-joints as well as the carrier bearing if your truck has one. This can cause vibrations as you described.

Currently having the same issue. Did you ever find a solution? So far I have thoroughly cleaned throttle body, MAF, and replaced plugs and still having the issue. My next move will be either a new throttle position sensor or coil pack(s).
