Just bought a 2001 Tundra auto V8 with 113000 miles. In the last two days the engine has stalled(killed) about ten times while coming to a stop or slowing for a corner. I have literally owned this truck for two weeks. This is my second Tundra and never had any problems with the first. (other than the brakes) Any info would be appreciated.

this is the wrong forum but it is common for the 1st gen to get a dirty throttle body and cause it to die out remove the intake arm and manualy open the throttle plate and spray carb cleaner and use your finger to rub off the carbon once it is clean start the engine (it will be hard to start) once it is started it will smoke a bit and run rough till you burn off all the carb cleaner after its burnt off the car will run normal again .. you may have to clear the code after because the engine was missfiring when you first started it

cliff notes:

1 remove intake arm
2 open throttle flap
3 spray throttle body cleaner inside while using finger to rub off the carbon/ grime inside
4 re-install intake arm
5 start engine
6 once running normal again turn engine off and disconect the battery for 30 seconds to clear the code
7 enjoy a good running truck again
