Some TS'rs like Smilodon and myself have been waiting on the Extang Solid Fold bed cover to become available....

I just communicated with Extang customer service. The Extang Solid Fold bed cover for the 2007 Tundra was released two days ago. There are two models of clamps, one for the OEM Toyota bed rail system acessory and another for trucks without the bed rail system. The clamps are the same exact system as shown in TS posts on the bed-rail compatible Trifecta model submitted by members RVn' Papa and Justa Bum.

My contact said it will take a couple of weeks for all the models to sift through the system and dealers get up to speed.

The Solid Fold does not cover the 8' beds yet so the only choice for long bed trucks will be the Trifecta for a while.

That looks like a pretty nice system.....I do however have a concern with their choice of model in the marketing of it....Somebody half or even a 1/3 her age would be more appealing....must be the bosses wife.....nice, but wrong age bracket....

Someboyd... You thinking Boyd Coddington or what? Not only is he not as good looking, he's probably pretty close to her age! :D

Great news! I haven't gotten word from the guys at Extang yet, but I trust the all-knowing Tundra solutions board to have the up-to-date scoop. :tu:

Now all I need to do is find somebody who could sell me one cheap(ish). Mailorder is a possibility, since even an idiot like me could install one of these...

not true, they say not yet(customer service sales)
Not so fast there, buckaroo. There is a conflict in information here. Maybe my Extang contact (Jeff Foutch) was smokin' crack this AM but here is an exact copy of what I received from him this morning:

We do have the Trifecta and the Solid Fold available for your truck (07 Tundra). We just released the Trifecta about 2 months ago, and the Solid Fold (other then the 8 ft bed) was released just a couple of days ago. The rear clamps need to swing under the trucks side rails near the tailgate. So from the picture you sent I don't think the tool box would be compatable. Because both of the covers have been recently released it might take awhile (a couple of weeks) to filter through the distribution chain. If you have any questions, please give me a call.

Thank you for your interest in Extang, "America's best engineered truck accessories"

Only laughing at myself, really... I read that and it took a few seconds for me to see it was "somebody" with the letters flipped. So, I pondered what a "someboyd" was for a moment...

"Isn't that like a sleep walker?" I thought....

i guess they are speaking from forked tongue, if you know when we can order, please let me know.
I called Extang. They have the 6.5' bed and 5.5' bed models shipping. The 8' bed model is ready but they don't have cardboard boxes made yet big enough for the larger panels. So they are waiting on the shipping boxes for a couple of weeks before they can ship the long bed version. Here is what I gathered:

Solid Fold for 5.5' bed models: 56800
Solid Fold for 6.5' bed models: 56950
Solid Fold for 8' bed models: 56955

I was also told they have the clamps that utilized the Toyota sliding bed rail system just like the Trifecta but I am still unclear if there is a part number change to distinguish which clamps each cover comes with.

I talked with AZ Truck accessories and they told me to talk to Extang directly. Here is the AZ link to covers:

I'm excited there is a long bed version ready.

My "soft" trifecta came with some extra brackets that mounted/bolted on the bed rail, so the existing screw clamp on the cover could use that instead of under the lip of the bed ..uh...top. Hope thats clear.
I imagine they will follow that again with the hard cover.

This site has them for $329.00 and free shipping.

Extang Trifecta Folding Tonneau Bed Cover

They don't list the crewmax with the 5.5' bed but I think the doublecab short bed one will work. How secure are these things against theft? Seems like a good deal for the money. I get my Line-X bed liner put in tomorrow. Woohoo!
