We just purchased a 2012 Tundra TRD and are pretty baffled at the pedal sensitivity. I’ve driven Toyota’s with sensitive pedals before, but this is beyond worse. Had the truck for three months and can’t get used to it. It literally launches everyone back in their seats and feels impossible to drive under 30mph in neighborhoods. I’m giving my son (16) the truck soon and am pretty worried about him hitting someone while accelerating from a stop. He’s been practicing driving it and it’s not going well... Is there anything that can be done to adjust the sensitivity?

Practice... you will get used to it.
My '07 has a 'hair trigger' where as, my '02 has more of a normal pedal.
I can launch both nice & smooth - when I want to.
