As many of you are aware, I have been working on a spreadsheet to try to sort out the meaning of the various dash light patterns which occur when there is a problem. While it has not produced the results that I expected, it does seem to have some value so I am attaching a copy of it here:

I originally expected to find patterns that would allow everyone to diagnose problems from the lights. While that does not appear to be true, the light patterns do seem to be consistent when a failure occurs so they have some value.
If you have a problem that results in these light patterns please post a link to the thread discussing the problem here.
1) Insure that you list exactly what lights were displayed.
2) Let me know exactly what the problem was and how to fix it.

This thread will be much more useful if the actual problems are posted elsewhere and a link to them is attached here.

Oh!... and thanks again to Tundradrenalin for figuring out a way to update the pdf file without breaking the links to it.

Edit: The way the the TS forum deals with attachments has changed. The most current copy of the "lights" spreadsheet will now be attached to this post only.

When I had the 2WD/4HI/4LO switch slightly past the 2WD part, it was flashing the 4HI and 4LO lights.
I'm guessing it was a limp mode. Was at that time in 2WD. Switching the switch back to 2WD turned the lights off.

I had

blinking 4LO 4HI
ABS On

Brake ON

several others where on as well, i think trac, but i dont recall 100% on the rest...

restarted the truck and they all went out except ABS stayed on for awhile, then went out...

I'm puzzled, dealer is also puzzled. I let u know if i find anything out..

I have not seen that combination before so I have added it on the list.
As a wild guess I would say ice on a wheel sensor.
If you figure out what it was let us know.

Backing out of the parking lot from work today I experienced:

4 HI / 4 LO Blinking lights

ABS, VSC and Brake Solid lights

I was parked in about 6" of snow and temp was in the mid 30s. The truck was slipping and lost a little traction while backing out. The roads are clear with some slush and snow left in the parking lots.

Shut the truck off, restarted and all went away except for the brake and I think ABS. After rolling a few feet they also shut off. No issues since and I will inquire with the dealer on the next service.

This is an excellent reference you've put together for us, mendonsy.
If something as simple as a blown reverse light fuse causes our dash to go into Christmas tree emulation, I would think a service technician would like to know what those blinkenlights mean, but I have found nothing in the FSM that compares, or even comes close to what you've done here.
Thanks for the effort.

Started the truck after work and had the CEL on and VSC, 4LO all blinking, limited RPM for the ride home. Start it again tonight and now have the CEL on and the VSC. 4HI, 4LO all blinking. Will try and get it to the dealer tomorrow. Glad I go the ex warranty now.

I started my '07 with 91,000 miles this morning and had the same problem. The CEL and VSC on, 4LO blinking. I left the house thinking I could make it to the dealership. Wrong! Made it about a mile. It drove like it was in 4LO. I stopped and had it towed into the dealer. I'm now waiting on the dealer to call me and let me know what the fault codes are saying. In another thread a guy had the same problem and the dealer told him he needed a new vacuum pump for $2650. I'll post again when I find out what the dealer says. I'm not happy about this.
