Glass Pack question

Hey everybody, I have an 06 double cab sr5 and want a beefier exhaust for cheap. My plan was to thow on 2 2.5" cherry bomb blass packs and dump the exhaust right behind the rear axel for that hidden look. I was wondering if anyone here has done this and if it would mess with the truck in any way. I know a couple of guys who have done this on their chevy's and fords who now have everlasting check engine lights on and I reallydont want that to happen. Thanks

As long as you keep your cat converters on the truck, you'll be fine. Once you get into gutting cats, or removing them all together, then you will throw a check engine light. There are boxes you are wire into the O2 wiring to eliminate the check engine lights, though.
I am running a glass pack in place of the stock resonator, and aeroturbine, and foolies split off the back of the aeroturbine. Nice sound at idle and great at speed. Not too loud but loud enough on my 2004 DC.
Thanks for the replies guys. I checked out the Aero Turbine thing you were talking about. Very cool but too pricey for me. What is the box you can put the o2 censors into to keep them from fowling? also what does the resignator do? I will admit I haven't actually been under the truck to see all of what I am about to get myself into yet, I have just been unsucesfully trying to find a diagram on the net (its hot out).
I have a cherry bomb glass pack replacing the stock muffler as well as a piece of pipe replacing the resonator. All other piping is still there but am considering chopping it back a bit as stated in the other thread to reduce drone. Anyway no check engine lights for me.
Leave the cats on. Ditch the resonator and run dual glasspack cherrybomb's It should sound pretty good.

i have run 4 different exhaust on my truck trying to get the sound i like best. loudest would be no resonator no muffler split out the back. real nice v8 sound but breaks weld almost once a week. i currently have true duals with an X followed by 2 glass packs. its not hear you a mile down the street loud but its still enough to turn a few heads every now and then. i also gained more low end and response.
All I know is glass-packs sound horrible on every-vehicle. Just a suggestion, Why don't you get a muffler that will increase flow (little more power and MPGS) and sound decent? I.E magnaflow.

but it's not my ride just thought I would share my thoughts and opinions.

Or save up for an aeroturbine.
