My 05 Sequoia 2 wheel drive has an issue with harsh shifting into drive. It only happens when shifting into drive (no other gears) and seems worse when it is hot outside. 133K miles. Does anyone know how to fix this?
Sometimes my 02 Tundra would feel "mushy" and tight when I shifted the column shifter into drive. After consulting this site I found that I could pretty much alleviate the issue by holding the break pedal firmly down for a few seconds before shifting into drive. You might even remove the plastic around the column and clean/lubricate that shifter mechanism up. Here is a You Tube Video so you will know what the part looks like.
