Hey guys, I would like to take some time to mention a buddy of mine that built a heavy duty bumper for the front of his '93 Ford F-250. He is thinking of going into business building them, and I talked him into the Tundra market also. Here is a link to his thread on "Ford Truck Enthusiasts."

Maybe he is planning to bolt some tire tread over the lower part "wrecker style" ? I'd be concerned about how heavy the bumper was, and the likely adverse effect on handling. For a full on off-road rig it could work I suppose. Scott

Not planning on any tire tread. The bumper weighs about 110 lbs. The motor in my truck weighs about 1100 lbs. It shouldnt even notice it. I dont think it would hurt a tundra any, but one for a tundra would be smaller, and should weigh less.

110 lbs. is a lot lighter than I would have guessed, it looks like frame rail material or something, sadly I'm in NH so I can't volunteer for a Tundra version :sad3d: Scott

I am looking for heavy duty front bumper for my 2006 tundra. The company "ARB" makes front ends for tacoma's that hangs over the headlights however they make nothing for the first generation toyota. Does anyone know of company that makes a heavy duty front bumper for first generation tundra that protects the headlights?

hey silverdog try ironbull bumpers...if you wanna drop that much money on a fancy bumper. ill stick with the stock one, i dont like the deer smashers anyhow.
