i'm needing some answers here and i know you guys can answer them.

1) a friend of mine just bought a 2004 sportside (stepside) tundra and he wants to put on one of those remote control metal sliding (roll-up) tonnue covers. does anybody know if they make one to fit that model tundra? we've looked but the only thing they say it will fit is a long bed or a short bed. 1 place didn't even know toyota made a stepside (sportside)!

2) i just added a 3in suspension lift to my truck along with new rims and 285/75/16 pro-comps. today i noticed some greese spatters down the side of my truck on both sides. i've crawled under it and didn't see anything leaking. any ideas? i'm hoping i just drove over something and it sprayed on my truck.

wild guess, but maybe it's your cv boots spitting some grease out.
thanks. i knew you guys would know what to check! i'll check that out asap! i reckon i could use zip-ties to fix that, right? thanks again for the quick reply!!
use the regular hose clamps. like those that are holding your intake hose on. that what i used.
thanks again integraGSR for your help! i'll get on it 1st thing tomorrow. you rock man!

The stepside has been around for more than 4 years now so most all of the companies make tonneaus for it now. I have a Truxedo and I know that is not what you are looking for but I have seen the Retrax and like for the stepside. I also think I have seen a remote one as well but cannot remember at this time. I will let you know if I find information on it.

instead of just using hose clamps as the temporary fix, invest in the Kartek 930 CV boots. not to expensive and they will not fatigue or crack open like you can expect the stock ones to do soon. i have a set but i wont be adding them until a few weeks.
I have a StepSide with the Retrax and I like it a lot (See pics in gallery.) When I was looking, more than half of the rolltop cover manufacturers didn't make a cover for the StepSide, so your choice is limited. Retrax had the best reviews on this site so that is what I purchased. It isn't remote controlled and I'm not sure if they do make one. I think Pace Edwards does make one so you should check their site, too.
Thanks rcwebb, Jetes03tundra and confederate2 for your help! My buddies gonna look at the Pace Edwards & the Retrax. Thanks Jetes03tundra for the info on the Kartek 930 CV boots! That's just what I was looking for! Thanks again guys!!!

How do you like the procomps?

Are they noisy?

Are they good in the mud?

Which ones do you have?

I was considering getting a set.
I have the Pro-Comp AT's. I love them! They are probably the best tire I've ever had and I've had just about ALL of them! They're not loud on the highway and they're good in the mud. Now if you're in deep then you'll want a mud tire, but then they'll be loud as hell on the highway and you don't get much life out of them. These Pro-Comp AT's are also GREAT in the snow/ice. They come with a 50,000 mile warrenty which even covers if your out off-roading and damage them! My last set I got a little over 70,000 on them but I also rotated every 5000 miles too. They also look great! I get compliments all the time on my rims (Pro-Comp 6059's) and tires! Get them, you won't be disapointed! Right now 4wheel Parts has them, buy 3 get 1 free!
