Hesitation in acceleration & loss of power

I just had a major power loss, "clogged fuel filter" and changed my fuel filter.
That fixed the problem for about 200 miles, then I started having the same but much less of a loss in power, it almost tried to stall on me on an off ramp of the highway.

I've got a 2000, 5 speed, 4-cylinder, 2.7L, Tacoma that is starting to act real funny. Then I'm at a constant speed in 5th gear around 2000-2500 rpm the truck acts like it wants to loss power and wants to choke out or something?

Plus, when I step on the gas it hesitates in kicking in to the acceleration?

 WTF is going on with this truck?
Any ideas?

sounds to me like maybe a clogged catalytic converter.
I was thinking the same thing.
I did have my engine light come on a few times with that code.
But after running some cleaner thru, the light has stayed off.
I would have thought that if it was getting bad again, the light would come back on.
But, I'm going to start using the cleaner again and see if I can prolong the $$$ bill.

Thanks for you input. :ts:

Is there any other ideas out there?

Hpw many miles are on your Taco? Sounds like you may have a partially clogged fuel injector, if you never had it done maybe it's time for a fuel injector service. I'm not talking about pouring in a can of fuel injector juice but taking it to a shop where they disconnect the fuel line and then run fuel injector cleaner through the fuel system. If you have over 100K miles have you changed the sparkplug wires? I suggest putting your Taco on a engine scope and then you can find out what is wrong.
