Guys,

I have the 5.7L in a dbl cab TRD 4x4. The idle seems very high. On start up in the morning (0 F) the engine revs to 1800rpm then drops down to 1500rpm. After driving 10miles and all temperature guages are up to normal the idle is still 1000rpm. Are other guys seeing this when it is cold out?

Yup, my 06 fires up at half-throttle too, I was hoping the 5.7 would do away with that quirk but not to be.

I think it has to do with cold-start emissions -- the higher RPM's bring the catalytic converter up to operating temp faster, thus reducing emissions.

That's typical EPA bs -- save the environment and screw the engine! :D jk
