how are customers rude to salesman?

so I was shopping around for a tundra in various states I talked to one guy seemed very nice and then talked to another guy who was also nice. Long story i decided to go with another guy who could get my truck built 5 weeks after toyota started production again the other guy said mid may or end of may latest, but he wanted 18k as a deposit and the other guY who I went with said 1k to get the truck started. The guy with 1k straigth up said he will show me the invoice before rebates and say he will go over 500 dollars from there, but the other guy ignored my question and just said, "we will work with the price after the truck gets here".....so how is it a customer wastes a salesman time I dont understand? just recieved a rude email after i told the 18k deposit guy that I found another dealer who can build it sooner and get it here sooner.

Would you put down 18K on a truck that isn't built yet, and that you have to "work" on the price with?

I wouldn't..

Seems like $500 over invoice is a fair deal regardless. Hope you like your new truck (in 5 or so weeks)

you have to be kidding me  for him to send me a rude email saying I wasted his time. Just odd why he would be mad thats all that and I didnt want him to take my 18k DP. he couldnt be upfront with me on price either with the custom built one another turn off.

So then you would rather worry about it? Sitting around being upset at him for being upset at you isn't going to get you anywhere.

thats why I was curious and asked if its typical of salesman to be this way? I once had a salesman in maryland take my drivers liscence number, insurance info, credit card info to start a build on a tundra. Well after 2 weeks he ignored my phone calls and emails...so I called my bank to cancel my card luckiily no funny charges.
