2000 Tundra, SR5 4.7V8. I need to haul landscape stone for my new pond. Owners manual I thought said 1900lbs in bed. That seems very high and I have never pushed it that far. Does anyone know much I can put in there safely? (Assuming 1 230lb person in car, assume 50 lbs of 'junk' in the cab. Thanks

i've done 2X that, but i have air bags. and i was only going 5 miles. tundra handled it like a champ. that said i will never ever do that crap ever ever again. getting all that stone out of the bed of the truck was murder. i'm more than happy to pay the delivery fees on things like that now.

I was hauling about 1200lbs of gravel and junk in my '06 DC. It would bottom out pretty easily. Just added Helwig 2000lb helper springs and it made a HUGE difference in capacity. Cost was less than $100 delivered. Will save the cost of a rental or delivery many times over. Plus it still rides near factory, with my 5th wheel hooked up.
