HOw do I disable the door buzzer when the door is open and I accidently hit the keyfob.

I've accidently hit the keyfob before and am rewarded with an annoying 5 second tone. I don't want the alarm arm/disarm beeps removed rather just the time whjen I accidently hit hte keyfob with the door open.

isn't there something in the steering column behind the panel to unplug to stop the buzzer? i think i saw somthing in the "garage" about this a while back

I've scanned over the garage doc's and have looked under my seat for any connectors. The only one that I've found/seen is hte one to disable the seat belt indicator which I have already disconnected.

Could someone give me a little more direction on this? possibly a pic?

So when you say "HOw do I disable the door buzzer when the door is open and I accidently hit the keyfob." what exactly do you mean? Is the door buzzer noise triggered by the alarm? What do you mean by "hit the keyfob" - touch it, press a button etc? If so, what year vehicle (Tundra I assume) and what alarm system is in it?

'02 with rs3000. If it hit one of the buttons (accidentaly) when the doors are open it tries to alarm, but can't because of the open door so it sets-off a ~5 second solid tone. If I shut hte door it will go off then, but sometimes I'm loading something I have to wait till it times out.

Does the tone come from the alarm piezo or the vehicle buzzer?

It's the alarm buzzer (loud). The piezo is the somewhat quiet one associated ot the key is it not?
I think we all assumed you were talking about the buzzer that goes off when you open the door with the key in the ignition...

I do know someone with that alarm and it freaked me out the first time it did that (the loud alarm tones when the door is open and you try to set it). very annoying!

Since it comes from the alarm you are out of luck, unlesss you want to remove the alarm piezo altogether. There is not a programmable function to disable that functionality.

I guess I should've been more clear. I'm actually surprised others aren't annoyed at this feature. I was hoping someone had found a way to disable this feature short of disconnecting hte door switches. (which would also affect entry lighting.)

Oh well
