vincas - what's up with that plastic bag mod?

This mod is called "Poor man's sub box carpet"

P.S. Box was made from sheet of 1/2 plywood one night when i got pissed on my better half and went outside to make the box at 10PM :D Then i figured i had no carpet to cover it, so i used Glad Forceflex bag  Works like a charm and cost me like 0.05$

If you mount your amp in the center of the back wall, should be no trouble clearing the back seat. I thought about going this route, but since I have no kids and wanted more room for tools and for my dog, it made more sense for me to take the entire seat out. So my amp is hidden neatly along with my capacitor in the little compartment where your sub box is probably going.
I am going to get into building a different box this weekend or next, depends how lazy I am. When I'm done I will post up pics for everybody to see. Sometimes I wish I went with a smaller sub, easier to work with 8s or 10s. Now it's too late since I have a 12 that I like too much to part with. Glad I didn't get itchy enough to get a 15 again!

Do you plan to fill the whole back seat with the box, or just for the sub part? Sounds like a plan and looking forward to how you put this together. Are you leaving the amp and
capacitor hidden?

i have an access cab and i fit my amps behind the back seat.
for a dc it will be tricky because of the back window that rolls down

I'm leaving the amp and capacitor where they are, but will probably clean up the wiring while I am at it. I'm thinking I will just make a simple panel to cover the unsightly parts of the back wall, then make a box I can mount to it. This time around I'll be carpeting it all, I've been lazy about this area. I'll post pics as soon as I"m done. Already took a few.
Sorry, not trying to thread jack, I think you should have no trouble mounting behind the seat.

I used two 1"x26"'1/8" aluminum stripes that i bought at Homeless Depot. And glued them to the back wall using liquid nails. I didnt wanted to drill any holes into the sheet metal so i simply glued the aluminum on. First mounted bolts on them that hold the amp in place, and when glue dries couple days later just put amp on and secure with nylon nuts.

I just installed a deck amp and four high powered speakers in my access cab two days ago... amp fit just fine under the passengers side seat, i removed the seat and pulled up the carpet to neatly run the wires to it, amp is hidden, cannot be seen at all but can be easily accessed to make adjustments to gain, bass boost etc...
