It cannot be removed from the pan. It's welded on. As far as the damaged part, if it's not leaking I wouldn't worry about it.

I drained the fluid from the drain plug, removed the 20 bolts, and dropped the pan. But the dipstick is attached to the pan. It's kinda dark under the truck and I am afraid of bending the dipstick pipe too out of shape, so I didn't have a good look. What's the proper way to get dipstick off the pan?
Also, I notice some cuts/corrosions on the dipstick pipe near where it connected with the pan. It could possibly be caused by road debris hitting under the truck. But the cut look deep, should I be concerned?
