So, I've perused all around for write-ups from someone who has done this in the past, but nothing for the 1st gens. I have a 2005 SR5 DC with JBL 6-disc changer head unit. I am going to attempt to install OEM Nav and RSES. I have the head unit (E7006), DVD Player, rear screen assembly, and OEM amp (I already have one that came installed with the JBL 6-disc, but think the one for RSES is different). I'm sure I will need more harnessing (not installed from the factory on a non-RSES truck) between the new components and who knows what other problems that will present themselves throughout the process...

I am new to the Tundra family as I just bought my 05 less than a year ago, but follow TS almost daily. Have any of you done this before? Either way, do any of you have any tips, tricks, comments, advice, or otherwise that may help me on this adventure?

When you decide to abandon the project, shoot me a pm to discuss selling me your E7006 and the antenna if you have it. I've got the rest of the goodies.

Hahahaha... That's what the dealer told me as well... lol "...you may be better off going aftermarket...", I believe were his words. What's wrong with your HU?

Hey Josh,

Looks like the equipment is scheduled for delivery on the 6th (this coming thursday). I hate waiting for stuff to arrive lol!! Also, quick update, just got my truck back for the weekend, back to the next shop on Monday. I'm going to try a poke around and see about that multi-display piece that you had mentioned. I'll update you via text/phone.

Great! I think that with what you sent along with the multi-display ECU I can make it work. The toughest part, I believe, will be the harnessing. I already have the headliner pulled out, so I'll see how bad it's really gonna be Thursday!

Was wondering how long it'd take you to reply... I actually had (and still have) the JBL 6D before I bought 7006 and RSES. Now I'm thinking a may try and sell all of it (JBL 6D, E7006, Nav antenna, map DVD, DVD player, rear screen, JBL amp, F&R JBL speakers, BT headphones, and RSES remote). Then buy an a.m. HU...

that's too many pieces, it's like a package and a half. you should separate the E7006 and the antenna and send it my way.
