K&N has three different intakes for the 2008 Sequoia:

http://www.knfilters.com/search/product.aspx?Prod=77-9031-1KP
Part 77-9031-1KP
HP gain: 13.43 @ 5142 rpm

http://www.knfilters.com/search/product.aspx?Prod=63-9031-1
Part 63-9031-1
HP gain: 13.05 @ 5282

http://www.knfilters.com/search/product.aspx?Prod=63-9032
Part 63-9032
HP gain: 8.08 @ 4717 rpm

I’m making the assumption that they will fit our 2010.

Does anyone know why there is such a difference in HP gains? I believe it's the air filter (different sizes) but I'm not sure.

I’ve also read that TRD’s intake gains 8 HP @ 5600 rpm. Compared to the K&N numbers, I would believe the K&N is “better” for performance gains. With such a heavy vehicle I’d like to get as much HP as possible.

Any thoughts? And are there other intake systems that fit a 2010 Sequoia Limited?

Thanks.

Well my post may be irrelevant.

From K&N:

Thanks for contacting K&N. Unfortunately at this time K&N does not offer a complete air intake system for the 2010 Sequoia. The 2008 year kit will not work on the 2010 model year. If you wish to be notified when a kit is available, please fill out the product request form on our website.

Unless you're looking for the extra noise, I devised a system that I think logically works better than the K&N System, somewhere along the lines of the TRD intake but less.

TRD Intake Flow Accelerator $20
K&N Panel Filter $50
Remove charcoal filter in top part of airbox $free

Having looked at the TRD system, there is nothing that differentiates it from my setup, in addition the KN is a short ram system that is not drawing in anymore air. It is still using the stock intake flow piece (same as stock airbox). In fact because the KN is a Short Ram Intake (SRI) you are probably losing power by drawing in warm engine air, but psychologically the noise created makes people think they're getting more power.

the 2008 and the 2010 are the same. k&n's response means, "we haven't test fit one yet, so we can't sell it."

everything i have bought listed for a 2008 fits my 2010
Thanks for the info. While I'd rather go with TRD (stay with Toyota products), I'm not too keen on cutting the top engine cover so their intake will fit. At least that's what it says to do in the installation instructions.

Do you have a photo of the Intake Flow Accelerator itself? When searching, I only find the complete TRD kit. Thanks.

TRD Sparks sells it. It was like $25. I don't have a part number :beatsme:
Thanks for the pic. So I take it the part fits between the air filter box and the hole in the fender well?

Sorry for the thread highjack, 407guy.

Yes, I wasn't sure if it was due to the TRD piece, KN or removal of charcoal filter. Sounds like the K&N is the issue.
