Working on a neglected (Upgrading this status to "abused") 1st gen (2UZ-FE) and I noticed the lines to the internal (in radiator) trans cooler were missing/not connected.
It does have the add-on mini rad in front of the radiator connected. I live in Michigan, so it does get cold, and I could see the benefit from having the trans fluid warmed up.
But looking at the diagram that internal trans cooler/warmer is very small, to the point where I think any heat generated by it would be taken back out by the small external rad.
Questions:
Is what I have currently good enough for summer cooling? (I don't do any towing, plowing or heavy 4x4 use)
Will running just the external keep the fluid too cold this winter?
Would reconnecting/adding the internal back in be worth it?
Thanks for any advice!
