iPod Interface for 07 Tundra NAV?

Anyone tackle this yet? Add an iPod interface to your new 2007 Tundra with NAV?

I used an earliar version of: SoundLinQ SLI - Toyota/Lexus Auxiliary Input Adapter with iPod interface(fits most Toyota/Lexus 2001-2006). Lexus iPod interface provides direct PnP connection to OEM audio system. in my 04 4Runner but it was pricey, $220 in a group buy.

For my Pioneer AVIC I paid $44 at circuit city and it works great.

This is something I would like to do as well, though I won't have NAV. I don't need no stickin' map. Where's the adventure in that? I do however need my iPod. Having it hook up to the factory stereo and displaying tracks would be great.

I wouldn't get a Tundra without Navi based on all the features it does It comes out 10 times more enjoyable on trip's etc...

I agree, once you go NAV you can never go back. If you don't have it though this is a good option for iPod: In Dash Car PC - GROM iPod Adapters
I picked up an mini din cable from Radio Shack which plugs into the aux panel in the truck then to the speakers output on my ipod. The cable cost 8 bucks.

I knew it was just a matter of time before someone brought up the aux input! What I want to accomplish is:

  • Control iPod from the steering wheel controls
  • Control iPod from the NAV screen and see what's playing
  • Keep iPod charged
  • Keep iPod out of view
This can only be accomplished via the iPod dock connector. The Aux is nice to have vs. nothing, much better than FM transmitter or cassette but not versatile enough for me
Ohhhh, I did not know there was a difference. But, I see the light now and understand the difference.
I like the Scosche interface kit for the factory nav. Ive always preferred stock over the aftermarket look.

Scosche Ipod Interface

**Select Toyota / Lexus / Scion auxiliary input / iPod controller Intergrates full iPod controls from the factory radio Allows full scrolling text Allows menu options like artist, album, genre and song title Track up-down & volume control Retains factory satellite radio

I agree. as stated above..... I would also like a better Ipod interface screen one that almost looks like the Ipod on my nav. I don't want to have to look hard/squint too look for a song. and would like to be able to scroll through song via steering wheel control. not have to reach over and turn the tuner. something more like ...... ULTIMATE IPOD
I have doen a little looking into this myself and have yet to see soemthing that has exactly everything I want it too yet but so far the closest thing that may do what I want is this unit but its still hard to find.
USA Spec iPod® Interface Connects your iPod to select Toyota and Lexus factory radios at Crutchfield.com

They also make the older PA12TOY unit thats seesm to have a little less features.
I also got email from the guys at that make the SL2Vi mentioned ealier that they have one that work with out stock head NAV unit but its pricy for what you get I think.
So for now I will stick with the simple burn a few CD's with MP3 on and thats good enough for now since I can get roughly 150-200 songs per CD so thats 800 songs if you put in all 4 cd's. Plenty of listening time and can be controlled also.

I agree that stock look's good but it's a far cry from a Good decent Navigation head unit. All the complains I'm reading about my system does and Performs a whole lot better vs factory Oem Toyota. Toyota is second rate techology when it comes to this stuff features wise it lack's a lot of options Aftermarkets exceed so well in. Wile My system has the ipod functions I also gain a harddrive with advanced music search voice command's for genre album etc ..

(video below show what Pioneer does Toyota has yet to add this on Factory Low budget)
