There's been a lot of negative feedback from most of the members here about the k&n.
Most recommend going with trueflow. They say k&n lets in too much dirt & can cause your air flow sensor to get oily.

A certain F-Body club threatened Class Action against K$N for false advertiseing They said 25 hp gain we said BS, 27 Dyno pulls 8 cars with nothing larger then 3 hp increase.Club Membership was nearly 112K Members Nationwide they had no choice but to listen.
Now their slogan is 20% Increase LMMFAO !!
Improper oiling will foul you MAF.More HP ? only if you put the sticker on your window :tu:

Something I learned from the diesel truck forums, where they are big on mods and testing, is stick with the paper filter if you can. If you have to have more air for combustion, then use something else, but the paper is the best at filtering. When it is clean (new), it passes plenty of air. So just replace it more often. The other types, pass more air, and more particles, witch leads to poor oil analysis (silica's, I think), not good for motor. I had an oiled foam filter for a while, till I read to hold it up toward the sun. You could see little pin holes in it. I went back to paper, and changed it often. One of the signs with the diesel was to here the turbo whistle. So when I didn't here it, I changed filters. :)

The more air you can push through the engine, the more power it will produce. That means air in (open air filters, etc.) and air out (headers, etc.). However, some vehicles have problems with aftermarket open air filters because of the computer's algorithms. The computer senses the increased air flow but cannot adjust to it. Hence, a decrease in power. There is aftermarket computer software for some engines that tuners can use to fix the algorithm problem, such as LS1 Edit for Chevy LS1 engines. So, you may or may not see a power gain with open air filters.

My car has been tuned with LS1 Edit:

TRD will have their intake out later this spring. PTr03-34070 retails for $475.00.Forum price will be 100.00 less.
I checked last night, K and N doesn't have a CAI yet avail for '07 5.7. Will the TRD have the option of snorkeling to the the fog light inlet, or other CAI units?

Your cat must hork a lotta hairballs, and meow less at lower RPMs ;).

Honestly why would you want to do that to your new engine ...K&N is useless bling and stickers, not performance parts.

If you need a filter to trap more crud offroad, Trueflow makes excellent filters. Otherwise, OEM paper is just fine. Search around the Engine & Drivetrain forum for discussions on K&N and Trueflow.

Hello,
don't pounce on me for my screen name. I'm not here to intrude. Afterall my FJ is a TOYOTA..:)

There was and is a group buy going on for aFe CAI for the FJ. Looks like aFe makes the ProDry S filter (DRY MEDIA). You can choose from 3 different flter media types. I'm sure aFe will be making a CAI for the TUNDRA. Everyone who has received there aFe CAI is happy with it.

If you want the Most power from K&N this is the only thing you need to put on your truck. No CAI or drop in. This is the secret K&N has that really makes your vehicle faster.
Dude! I have these totally radical TRUE DUAL K&N STICKERS...that's right, be envious, one sticker on EACH SIDE of the rear window...now my ride is phat and sick and dope, yo. Bro, each one gave me twenty horsepower and it sounds like totally awesome, u have got 2 hear it 4 shur.
