I've been thinking about labeling the wiring. Is this a good idea or the bad as the hot air not to melt the labels?

Well I think that you will be able to find a good label tape that will resist for high temperatures, definitely you will find it

My brother works as a car electrician and he told a lot of times, that the most pissing off thing is that all the car manufacturers are not labeling their wiring. This is why it takes so much time to understand where goes a wire and where it should be mounted. My brother is using his personal label printer and a special label tape for that, I've heard a lot of times that his labeling tape is really good and can resist to high temperatures so probably this tape will be a good solution for your issue as well. You can find this tape here Brother DK2205 Continuous Wide Paper Label 2.4 in x 100 ft. ( 62mm x 30.4m ), Compatible hope I helped you
