Lets race

I posted this thread to see what kind of vehicles you guys have raced and beaten. I'm not much of a racer, but when someone pulls up to me at a light and gives me that look, I cant help but to see what he's made of. My truck isnt built for speed bcuz its a 2000 prerunner 4banger w/ K&N and Magnaflow, so i dont expect to win every time. But I have found that I have won more times than loss. I've beaten frontiers, rangers, dakotas, coloardos etc. and my only big loss was to a 06 Taco. I know tacomas are quick trucks, so lets hear how quick yours is.:D

Funny you ask that, I love racing people. I have an 07 Double Cab 4x4 with the 6 speed manual, so far only TRD exhaust but intake is on it's way. I have raced my friend in his brother's 2002 BMW 325ci (he put 330ci emblems on it, so I am not positive if it is a 325) killed him. I also raced my cousin in his 2007 BMW 525i and had him by 2 car links by the time I was at 60 mph. I raced my other cousin in her (yes her) 2002 Dodge Ram 1500 and beat her, not sure what engine she has though. And I raced my friend in his 4.3 2 door GMC Jimmy and that wasn't even close... killed him. Oh and I smoke some guy in a Nissan Xterra and I missed 2nd gear, LOL.
Well, let's see...

'68 GTX 440 Magnum
'68 Camaro SS 396
Lots of Road Runners (way too easy, most of them were only 383s)
Probably several others that aren't worth remembering...

Oh, you meant with the Tacoma? Not a chance!
I enjoyed the Musclecar Years... :D

funny how the new 325's have more ponies than that 525.
Nothing against anyone who has posted, but this thread probably won't last long because it talks about street racing. Threads that have people talking about their illegal actives usually don't last very long before they are closed.

Why? Same engine size: 2.5Liter, right? A 325 and a 525 of the same model year likely have the same engine.
The first number in a BMW is the model (3-series, 5-series, 7-series), and the other 2 numbers stand for the enging size (25 = 2.5L or 2,500ccm, 40 = 4.0L or 4,000ccm, and so on). So a 325 is a 3-series BMW with a 2.5L engine.

So it's not really surprising that a new BMW 2.5L engine has more hp then an old BMW 2.5L engine.

I'm sure it was a 325. You'd have no chance against a 330, as that's a full second faster then a Tacoma (or a 325) 0-60mph. The Taco & the 325 are about equal in acceleration. Yep, the Tacoma is a fast truck.
beat a prelude by about half a car length by the time we 95. real close. it was an older model though, like 98 or something

Hey, hey, hey!!! I never said I was street racing! ;)
i say keep the racing at the track...

my cardomain has my 1/4 mile time of when I took it there...lots of fun, don't be dumb and get killed on the streets...for christ sake its a rear wheel drive TRUCK with no ****ing weight over those tires...

Not the quickest car, but the '69 RR holds so much sentimental value as my first car. I had to sell it to get something more reliable for CO winters. Sorry to get off topic...just hit a sentimental note. Some day I'll have a RR parked next to my Tacoma.

Great idea, hope you can find a good one. :tu:
i killed a pinto!!
luckily he miss shifted into second.

i own the streets with my truck!!
I got to 88 MPH one time, but then something weird happened. It was like I went to some sort of different era or something. Then I hit 88 again and I was back in my driveway. The tires sure didn't last long either. they always smelled of burning rubber for some reason....
Did some racing against new 2.5l. Altima with standart tranny. We were absoliutly even from traffic light to 175 km/h. Powerstrock Ford (stock tires)is a bit slower at the beggining, but by the 4 gear it lines up.But i have 32" tires plus aprox 300 pounds of staff.
the pinto is 30 years older...

I thought he was talking about a pinto bean...
I was curious when I pulled up next to a brand new (still lot shiny and tagged) 07 tundra with the V8 so I jumped and rev'd a little to get his attention. Sure enough, light turned and we took off. I'm no racer and I didn't have my short shifer in yet, but damn, I was so far behind. Had a dcent launch, but by top of 3rd I gave up cuz he was at least 4 lengths ahead :(
That truck is faast.
