I am getting ready to plop down some hard earned cash for a 2008 Tundra crewmax LTD 4x4 with a TRD Supercharger and wanted to know from other Tundra owners who currently own or have owned SC on what to expect on durability and reliability of an SC if it is well taken care of and not abused, too much :) Can I expect over 100k miles out of it like the motor? Thanks for the feedback.

An engine is like a bar of soap. The more you rub it, the faster it will wear out. That being said, Toyota must have built some safety margin into the designs of the 5.7 powertrain components because they offer a warranty with the supercharger in place.

One possible way to guess how long it will last would be to find some Gen 1 supercharged owners and see how many miles they have on theirs.

I have over 40K since the install of the SC. I pull a 9K 5th wheel RV in the mountains up some pretty steep and long grades 16%. Up to now there have been "0" problems with the drive train, plenty of torque and power. Have not had any heat problems as I have been told would happen. Very happy with the SC. Also installed a Auburn LSD, so happy with that.
