I'd like to be able to leave my truck running with the doors locked, and as an added precaution keep the transmisison shift lever locked in park. Does anyone know if I can put a hidden toggle switch in series with the wire from the brake light switch to the transmission shifter interlock? Then I could turn off the switch and prevent anyone from shifting out of park. This would be just like trying to shift out of park without stepping on the brake pedal.

The column shifter is weak enough that gentle force could break it, and be a pita. But i like the lockout idea. Trans is a solonoid trans, so one of the wires in the trans pan would be the ultimate stop switch. May be in the harness connector, i dont know.
