I got a 4.7L DC with the TRD and driving back from the road trip I got her over 5000 miles. With that the Maintainence Required Light went on so I am assuming it is ready for the oil change. Thing is I changed the oil at 2200 (free from the dealer). How do I reset this light?

Thanks in Advance,

Thank you! Thank you!

Those of us without the multifunction dispaly don't have a procedure covered in the owner's manual. It strictly talks about the fancier trucks.

I have been going crazy for a week trying to get the "Maint Required" light off. It's supposed to be a friendly oil change reminder but I changed my own oil and subsequently the light came on (flashing first and then steady, as stated in your posted Service Bulletin). I called Toyota customer service from 800 number in the owner's manual and the lady was giving me page numbers for non-existant sections in the manual. Then she gives up and has me go through the same procedure as the multi-function display proclaiming it good for the non-MFD trucks too. We both gave up and I thought I'd search TS thoroughly before starting a new thread. So here I am very thankful. The salient point in the process was making sure that Trip A is dispalyed before turning the ignition off to start the procedure. That's a very important point and until finding your post I have tried everything but that!

I noticed the date of the Service Bulletin pdf you posted was two months later than the date I took delivery of my new Tundra. I guess somebody forgot to put it in the first rendition of the owner's manual.
