Hey there,
I am having an issue with my 2000 Toyota tundra, 4.7L,V8. When i am driving, AFTER the vehicle is warmed up, when i let off the gas and then re-apply my vehicle hesitates, and jerks forward (feels like a misfire). The check engine light will sometimes flash when it jerks, but never stays on. This can happen at any speed, most frequently from 45-50, and then again from around 15-30. It seems to only do it when i accelerate, or let off the gas and re-apply. I have replaced 02 sensors, and i am thinking about replacing sparkplugs, And camshaft position sensor. Is there any suggestions on whats is causing this?? Any ideas help. Since my truck wont throw the engine light, there is no diagnosis, and therefore no fix... please help

Read on here a guy had hesitation problems he thought might have been a coil pack but it was clogged injectors. With a truck that old maybe a good idea to give them a cleaning.

Thank you, i hope not. I run seafoam through my gas tank about every 6 months or so, to keep the injectors clean. I thought it may be the ignition coils, but I've replaced bad ones in the past, and those are pretty obvious when they go bad.

It's easy to listen to your injectors to see if anything is grossly wrong. Use a mechanics stethoscope or a long screwdriver touching the body of the injector with your ear against the handle and you can hear them ticking. Do it while the misfire is happening and see if any injectors aren't ticking like the others. I haven't tried this on my sequoia so don't know if anything is in the way or if the injectors are accessible but worth a try if they are.
