Can you mate the 2000-2004 non VVT-I motor to a 2006 transmission? If not then what does it take to change a 2000-2004 auto trans from 4wd to 2wd?

Can you mate the 2000-2004 non VVT-I motor to a 2006 transmission? If not then what does it take to change a 2000-2004 auto trans from 4wd to 2wd?

I know the driveshafts are different in the 5 speed and that the 3rd member are different because of that. I would assume because the block is basically the same between vvti and non vvti that it would just bolt up. On my experience from other transmissions the output shaft from the 2wd vs 4wd are different in length so it wouldn’t really work without changing that out.
