I had replaced the front brake pads in 2007 when the truck had 53,000 miles as I was preparing on taking my truck to FL from MA to first pick up a boat trailer in Tampa then get my new boat in Ft Lauderdale and tow it back to MA, a 3,200 mile round trip and a 1 way trip with a 6,000 lb boat from FL to MA.

The pads I took out were only 3/4 worn but I changed them anyway.

I had rotated my tires this past Monday and got a good look at my pads as I have about 47,000 miles on them and they don't look 1/2-way worn, see;

I see the MA winter roads have sure done their nasty work on your suspension components...

It is pretty orange/rusty under there and I'm one who absolutely washes off my undercarriage after every snow/road treatment event here in MA.

I have a feeling that in time, Toyota will extend the "inspection" to the 2004-2006 trucks if it is warranted.

At least I have no real concerns as mine is only surface rust and nothing is really bad underneath.
