did you try jiggling the steering wheel back and forth? even rather forcefully may help. Try rocking the truck back and forth a little bit too.

hi, good ogd, your in a tight spot, stuck in the dessert.
this does happen on many vehicles.
what others said is true.
it happens when your on a incline or decline of any kind. and the wheel is turned even slightly. and you shut off the key.
you can feel it lock tight when you shut it off & remove the key if your hand is on the steering wheel.
you need to as you are trying to move the steering wheel ,also try to turn the key. jiggle both at the same time.
but don't force the key it could brake.
if that doesn't fix it, than something else is wrong.
if you have wood you can try to jack up the front of the truck, if you have the proper jack. even just slighly.
to make the pressure on the wheels less stressing.
lease make sure no one is near the truck in case it falls.
good luck,
gorilla
