Looked High and Low for a Sharkfin style XM radio antenna. Nobody made one. So I made my own. :D

Nice work, how did you fabricate it?

The real question is does it work as well as an original?

Yes.

I found a site on the Internet that sold "fake" shark fin antennas.

I bought one and taped a piece of sandpaper, sandy side up, on the roof and slid the fake antenna back and forth sideways to shape it to the contour of the roof. Then I painted it to match.

I got a mini XM replacement antenna, filled the shark fin full of epoxy putty, and pressed the antenna into the soft epoxy before it set up.

I used moulding tape to hold it on; didn't want to rely on the magnet alone. So far, it has survived one pass through the car wash. :)
