I have a 2004 Sequoia SR5. My original OEM Wheels are starting to look bad. They have pitted in a few places and just don't look clean. I live in Illinois so the snow and salt are pretty harsh on the wheels.

I would like to replace my wheels but I'm not sure what to do. Thought about trying a Chrome Exchange place where you send your wheels back once you receive the new. Don't know If there is a service to exchange same exact OEM rims.

Will chrom wheels pit faster than the oem alloy wheels?

What have others out there done? Suggestions?

I'm in Indy, so were hit by about the about the same conditions. I took my stock 04 limited wheels off because they were chipping and looking pretty rough. I got some aftermarket chrome wheels and performance tires. During the winter I am going to put the beat up stock wheels back on to protect the nice chrome rims from winter.

Chrome = summer
Beat up stock = winter

Dunno if its the solution you're looking for, but thats what I'm doing.

Same problem recently on my '04 Ltd. No road salt here in FL.

I think the lifetime for these OEM wheels is about 6 years. That is sad.

Getting time for new tires, might start looking at sets on tirerack or something.
