I've doubled up on my springs, but I've got one new spring and one old spring on each side. I intended to get another set of new springs instead of keeping the originals that had about 45K on them but forgot about it. Now I've got another thing to do (order new springs) for my fall maintenance ritual.

Didn't all your problems start when you put on those wheels? Maybe they are junk and you should go back to quality built OEM wheels. Find a local Gen1 owner and swap wheels/tires for a few hours and you will at least be able to confirm or rule that out.
