Oops, Yes, i meant 1". They are not tapered, is the any drawbacks to using the untapered blocks? So all i need to do is support the rear of the truck by the frame with jackstands while it is in the air, take my floor jack and lift the axel slightly, remove U-bolts one at a time or at the same time? and replace with longer U-bolts, slide in the blocks and re-tighten.
is this the 1" block from wheelers? if so you got longer ubolts with them. Just put the rear of the truck on jackstands after jacking up the rear diff with a floor jack. then put a block/anything to prevent the front tire from moving forward! drop the floor jack some to allow the truck frame to sit on the jackstands. then put the floor jack up on the rear diff supporting it, then remove all ubolts. Now very slighty release the floor jack down about an inch and half or not much more and place the blocks on the rear axle on both sides, then jack the axle back up and replace the ubolts and tighten them. make sure everything is hooked back up and remove all jacks. then make sure the ubolts are tightened to correct specs.
