I bought a used 2006 Tundra SR5 Double Cab last weekend and it didn't have any of the keyless remotes with it. I purchased one on Ebay (made sure I got the right version for the DC based on the manual) and I can't get it to program. I can't even get the Tundra to enter programming mode. I am following the directions from www.programyourremote.com. I did it several times and nothing. The remote is in excellent condition and has a new battery. Thanks in advance for your help.

Thanks very much. I printed out the PDF document you suggested and have reviewed it. However, I don't have a security system. Will this process still work and do I just ignore the fact that my Tundra is not going to activate lights and buzzer when going through the process? I also noticed that in the notes section on this document is says, "For factory remote keyless entry system programming information, refer to the vehicle repair manual." Is that what I need? And, if so, where can I find that? Thanks again, I know this keyless entry stuff can be tedious and annoying!

TundraSolutions.com - Didn't work. Tried it over and over. Do all 2006 DC Tundras beep and chirp? Didn't know this...happy with just the good ol' keyless entry (lock-unlock feature) but if it suppossed to beep and chirp-excellent! Bought it used from a dealer and no information. Upgrading :) from a 1995 4Runner. Will try diablito1975 's suggestion tomorrow and let you know. Would really like this to work! Thanks for all the suggestions.

it does get frustrating. i did it like 5 times then finally got it right! when you do get into the programming mode, make sure you use the rewrite, switch ignition on and off 2 times, so that any other remote that has been programmed before will not work and only the remote you have will work.

My son just went through that with his 4Runner. Ended up going to a local stereo/alarm installer and 15 minutes and $15.00 later he's in business. No more frustration.
