Spanish is hard for us Dutchies to learn. But traveling a great part of the world, mostly the northern hemisphere, speaking English and German gets me everywhere...

Universal...

Most !

I'm a bit of a retard when it comes to language ~ I have enough trouble with English.
However, we live just a few minutes from the border with Mexico and lots of folks here speak Spanish. Over the years I've picked up a couple of key words ~ that's about it.

I'm told that in the aviation world English is the go to language.
In the olden days the Dutch traders spanned the globe ~ speaking English was a big part of them becoming successful (I think?).

Most movies are in English with subtitles. That way it's easy to pick up a language. It's also handy to pick up slang, which often can't be translated. But we also learned English in primary school...

Seems all the 'gringos' pick up on Spanish Slang and bad words ~ same thing happened to me.
I have fun with it but I'd have to study the language in order to really learn it.

These special built cars are not allowed on Dutch roads, they are not legal. Wish I could drive a hotrod here, they are so cool.

Illegal...

If you ever get into a wreck on the road you'll be glad you're in a late model vehicle
with all those dreaded safety devices . . . :surprise:
