My Tundra is getting a new set of Michelin LTX M/S2's tomorrow!

Nothing fancy, just plain Jane P245/70R16s

Those are awesome tires and I would have chosen them if I didn't have
a set of Michelin Traction radials mounted on steel rims ready for action.

You'll love them. Mine were one size oversized...255/70/16. Great tires. Plain...but really hard to beat.

Why are some factory tire sizes 245's and others were 265's?
My 2002 4x4 are/were 265,

i sold the **** out of michelin LTXs back in the day. everyone loved them. nobody liked the pricing of them though. michelin, your paying alot for the name.

I am looking for a set of tires that will be good in WNY winters, ie snow and ice. And I want to be able to tow and not hear them. I had a set of the michelin LTXs on my last F150 and I loved them. The prices for these tires is crazy, I can get a set of 35's for my Jeep TJ for less than a set of plane jane tires for my Tundra.

My truck came factory with 265/70/16's.
And I have kept that size on my truck. Just curious as why they came factory with different sizes.

I'm sure mine came with 265s from the dealer, but the door sticker calls
for 245s so that's what I've used ever since wearing out the original tires.

I put a crap ton of miles on those on my last two Ford super duty diesels. They are great on the road, and I towed some heavy loads with them very often(10 plies). They sucked off road though, sand and mud would stop them dead, they just packed right up. Not bad in the snow though. Overall great tire if you keep it out of the soft stuff.

The "Work Truck" came with 245/70/16 tires. Most Tundra's came with 265/70/16 tires. The "Work Truck", or any regular cab Tundra is lighter than the AC cab or double cab Tundras, which came with larger tires. It's a weight thing. My RC always had a 5% error on the speedo until I put on 245/75/16 tires which are the same height as the 265/70/16 tires. Waterboy!, I mean H2O man, I thought you had some 235/85/16's at one time?

I had a set of 215/85/16 LTX M/S. They were great, but wore them out.

Oh! 215's! Well I guess so. Those are bicycle tires(Ha,ha). Actually, I'd probably like those except they are LT, heavy tires. Michelin makes great tires. You pay twice as much but they last twice as long. It's all personal preference. I'm still enjoying my Firestone Destination AT's. As long as you're happy, right? BTW. I got a poster in the email(not by itself, though) that reads, "Diversity." It's like those motivational posters except it illustrates an array of assault rifles!

I have a set of 285/70/17's (yes 32.7" tall tire) on my 06 Doublecab. These are the best tires I have ever put on this truck after the factory Bridgestones (crap). They have nearly 30,000 miles on them and nearly 75% of the tread left on them. You will not be disappointed.

I have 55k on my Michelin LTX 265/70/17 that are on my 06DC. Maybe another 10k if I'm lucky. Ride is super.

I am considering stepping down to a 245/75 16 so that I can get an e rated tire. I will be towing and I want the heavier sidewalk.
