I dont do too much self maintenance, but need to change my plugs. this motor doesnt look quite like what ive delt with in the past..any thing to look out for, any hints or suggestions?

there are no plug wires, only coil packs,on top of the spark plugs. take out the two small screws that hold them on top, then you can get to the plugs relatively easy. it may also help if you have a magnetic spark plug, or a length of airhose,as this will help get the plugs out and back in without being a p.i.t.a!! hope this helps!
