IS there a remedy for an OEM bottle jack when the device stops extending? During a flat yesterday, the jack stopped extending after the first section and only about 1/3 of the second extension was exposed.

Thanks for your review and advise.

I did inspect the bottle jack and it was stuck. I was able to free it up and clean both cylinders and lubricate them real well. I used a 1/2 inch drill atached to the end of one of the stems to accelerate the full lift and return of the jack. Then used it to lift the truck and replace the spare with a new tire. It performed fine. It seems the front of the truck being heavier needs a more jack extension to lift the truck vice the rear. Lesson learned; inspect the spare tire, the attendant tools and the tire extractor periodically.
