I posted about 70 2008 SEMA Tundra pictures in one of my albums for everybody to have a look at. The Tundra was pretty heavily supported this year.
I didn't get that impression this year at all. There were certainly a ton more Tundras there last year than other makes, but this year it was much more balanced. There seemed to be a fair # of the new Rams there this year, and they sure looked nice, but of course they're not a Toyota. They all look nice on the outside, but it's the drivetrain lasting for 250k miles that makes the Toyotas my favorites.

There was a DC 4WD longbed Tundra there this year that was lifted and sitting on 37s, with really no other mods. It looked badA$$! I didn't take a camera this year, sorry.

Ugly buttt ugly (bad choice of color? (flat black) and el cheap wheels yea I would use that as a beater truck to take off roading...

Did you see the stats on that truck? It's the ultimate sleeper with a 5.7 v8, supercharger, and NOS all in a RCSB package with some simple steelies. Not to mention flat black is the epitome of early hotrods, sorry it didn't have more primer showing and some pin striping.

Im surprised in the next few year's Chevy comes out with an New Camero (still late) and the dodge charger 2 door surely looks great.Trucks don't do justice on just being hip anymore and Yea i have been in a s/c 5.7 liter Tundra i know it all too well (grin)..

Actually most self Respecting "Hot Rodder" would not call a vehicle done until it had nice shiney paint on it. yes they had Primered Hot rods in the day but only unitl done and ready for paint. Only recently has the fad been primer/flat. Maybe due to the old pics and magazines showing the cars "Looking" flat due to either black and white pics or just bad quality but most hot rods were nice and shiney when done.

Loving the SEMA pictures, thanks everyone for the updates!

I was just on the official SEMA website and see a note there that the show is not open to the general public. Has this always been the case? How do you get in? I always thought it was just like any other car show. In fact I was thinking of a trip to Vegas just for SEMA....

The show is only for SEMA members. I usually get in under the radar as an "employee" for a company. They don;t sell tickets, but I had to pay the "fee" to become a member when I went my first year. Hell, that had been so long ago, I don't remember the name of the company I made up.

Sometimes it's just a matter of knowing somebody. Just about anyone that has something to do with cars, can get in. Like Lawdog, you can get in as an employee. If you know somebody with an automotive shop, you can try to get in under their name.

Sema has been a Vendor's show been that way Inless you have friends in the bussiness your flat out of luck on getting in. I've been to a few Sema event's myself and it's whole lot of fun. It's like eye candy for the Aftermarket or retail busssines and if you work this sector it's surely not to be missed.Sema also has a booth just for rim's and tires and that takes up a whole lot of space.

One of the areas I like about Sema is this enviroment is very much the attention to detail not found in other shows.

SEMA is starting to tighten up their attendee policy a bit; such as not issuing so many tickets per company etc.. You pretty much just have to have a couple forms of business ID to prove you are in the automotive industry. Another thing I like about SEMA is they don't allow people under 16 to attend the show, so you don't have to worry about fighting strollers. I have went to the show for the last 6 years and it gets better every time, with the exception of this year. It seems the economic crunch has let to less exhibitors and more attendees. I noticed there was fewer industry parties and give-aways also. There was a lot more tundras there this year though.:)
