Oil filter drain bolt is stuck!

This post reminded me to change my oil so I went out and warmed her up. After pulling the drain plug I took off the skid and tried to take out the filter housing drain...same problem. So the whole thing unscrewed. I let it drip for a few minutes to avoid making a big mess and took the filter cartridge assembly to the vise as you suggested above. No problem...drain plug came right out.

I know now what I did wrong during my last oil change. I used the 3/8 socket to tighten the cartridge assembly which is much easier if you do not have the correct 65mm 14 flute filter wrench. I'm headed to NAPA to get part # IF-6514 today.

Anyway, I tightened up the assembly the same way using a 3/8" socket but this time I backed off the drain plug and used a torque wrench to make sure it was looser that the assembly.
