Hi Guys,
I have a PO500 code and it reads that "Speed Sensor A" is the problem.

Where is speed sensor A? I know where the VSS is, but there are several other sensor on it that look the same.

Symptoms:
1) No cruise control
2) Speedo is either dead or will bounce around read very inaccurately
3) Tach and everything still work

Diagnostics So Far:
I have jacked up the back of the truck and unplug the VSS. I connected my multimeter to it and put the truck in drive. I get no reading from the VSS (i think its bad). However the strange thing is with the VSS unplugged my speedo still bounces around and reads inaccurated (within 20mph of actual) speeds (but it is still sensing the car in motion).

Any help would be greatly appreciated before I go ordering a VSS.
Thank you!

Update: My book was wrong!!! The speed sensor is on the Passenger side of the transfer case. I have unplugged it and now my speedometer doesn't work. I have ordered a new one and will update if that is the fix.
FYI:
2001 Tundra SR5 4.7
