I want to paint part of the interior of my car chrome, but I haven't seen any paint in a spray can for plastics that is chrome. The only thing I saw was mettalic. Will this stick to the plastic or will it chip/ scratch or fade?
Chances are it will stick if you lightly sand the finish before you spray. I gotta tell ya though it will not look like the chrome as we know it. I sure hope you're not doing this to a vehicle you like and only as a last resort to hide other damage.
Dear god what are you talking about? Chrome on the inside? I have always been told if you cant say anything nice dont say it at all but damn, that would be about the biggest waste of time/money. Plus it would look like a ghetto pos.
If you are still going to do it, remove any wax/protectant with a adhesive remover, then spray on a tack layer of primer, then the chrome.
I don't want to paint the entire interior chrome just the trim so how would that look ghetto cu from what I know about new cars " THERE IS INTERIOR CHROME TRIM" even in the most expensive cars.
Actual Chrome look is not going to come from a rattle can. :td: It will look like a cheap shiny silver. Even though chrome is actually sprayed on plastic from the factory I am not sure you can just buy it and do it at home. They have places online that will chrome plastic for you but a rattle can chrome is not going to come out looking like the emblems on your truck. Try it on a piece of scrap plastic and hold it up to your dash before you screw up an expensive piece of your truck. But then again it is your truck and you may like it.
They never showed pics of how it came out but they did get a quote of $20 a piece for some door handle surrounds which is not too bad. So if you really wanted to do it you probably would only being looking at less than $100 to do all 4 ac vents.
