Ok, so I have an 08 Ltd With rear air suspension, but NO adjustable shocks. I took out the factory struts in the front, and rear shocks, and replaced with Bilstein 5100 struts in the front, and 5100 shocks in the back. Rides a bunch firmer than stock with less bounce. Set the struts on the 1.5" lift setting... One thing I noticed is that the trear sensors matched the front height, so I'm level all around. Was a nice surprise.

BUT I want to take the air suspension out and replace with thicker springs, and install an airlift system instead, to handle more weight, as we often tow a travel trailer with 7-8 passengers. So... Was wondering on the thread above, if there are any comments on how the swap worked out? Ride quality etc? Also, my main question is were there error messages on the dashboard after taking the hardware out?
To my knowledge no one has done the swap yet. I no longer own the sequoia though.

Oh, so you never ended up doing the swap in the end then?
No, I put the 5100’s on the rear and hoped for the best. They were fine until I traded it in on an expedition in January. If they would have blown, or I had an issue with the air system, I definitely would have done the swap no question.

On a side note. I love the expedition more than the Sequoia. I’m not sold on the reliability yet, but as far as driving comfort and power ford has it figured out, and thats going from a platinum sequoia to an XLT expedition. I still have my Tundra and an about to hit 100,000 miles on it. No plans to get rid of it anytime soon.
