I recently had my water pump and timing belt replaced at the dealer. They charged me a 100 and change for labor to replace the water pump. Doesn't the water pump need to be removed anyway when changing the timing belt? Your replies are much appreciated.

Not necessarily. If you look around you can find the PDF for the timing belt procedure and it does not require the water pump coming off. $100 sounds high to myself having just done the work, but I would guess it took 20 minutes of undoing all the bolts / nuts and 10 minutes to put it back on, so if they have a 1 hour flat rate, that might be right.

We charge an hour labor to do the pump once the belt is off. That includes flushing the coolant as well. I think that is pretty much standard in the industry.
